How it works

  1. 1

    Your child writes to Santa

In their own words, in their best (or wobbliest) handwriting.

  2. 2

    A grown-up shares it

A parent or carer adds the letter on this website (or hands it to the Twirl & Swirl team) using their own email address.

  3. 3

    Santa's reply arrives by email

A personal letter, read and approved by a grown-up before it's sent, with a printable copy to read together.

Sending a letter this year

The North Pole Post Office is not accepting letters at the moment. Details of how to share a letter will appear here once the team has set them up.

The post office isn't accepting letters just yet.

If online letters aren't open yet, the page will say so - nothing is sent or saved.

A letter from the North Pole

A fictional child's letter

Dear Santa, My name is Ottilie and I am 7. This year I learned to ride my bike without stabilisers! I love drawing foxes and making snow angels. I hope Rudolph is well. Please could I have some paints? Love from Ottilie

For parents and carers

A note for grown-ups

Real people, careful letters

Each reply is drafted with the help of AI and checked against Santa's rules. Then a grown-up always reads and approves it before it's sent: you, if you create the letter online, or a member of our team for letters they collect. Some letters are read by our team first. Our checks are careful, but no check is perfect.

No promises about presents

Santa's letters never promise particular gifts, never mention naughty lists, and never say Santa is watching. They celebrate your child's own words and leave the surprises entirely up to you.

Only what we need

We only ask for your email address and your child's first name. We never ask for surnames, addresses, dates of birth or schools. The letter is emailed to you, not your child, so you choose when to share it.

Not kept for long

Photos of letters are deleted soon after the reply is sent, and the rest of the record follows shortly after. You can ask us to delete everything sooner at any time.
